A trader started trading of plant and flowers on small scale, as a one-man company. In no time the customer base increased and the trader realized the need and market for an online trading platform. This need resulted into an Commodity Sales Platform providing trading facilities.
The customer came to CodeEpsilon Services as the partial digital system soon became a bottleneck with increased transactions very quickly. The business soon started taking a toll as most time was consumed in managing transactions and coordinating between sellers and buyers. As such there was no Online Trading Platform for Plat and Flower Growers.
The new system although being highly interactive, needed a transition for the operator working on the old non-digital methodology. This challenge was handled by doing extensive WIREFRAMING during the requirement gathering sessions.
The data across the Sellers and Buyers was not uniform, as they were working independently, until now. With the new system all the users were to be brought on the same data platform.
The challenge was overcome by providing a uniform data facility topped up with the term mapping This helped them understand and start using the system with its own data uniform terms.
Another challenge was the management, security and user ownership of the data. The application was made secure using various aspects like user authentication, usage of SSL, token based security for the API calls etc. The ownership of data was provisioned by building data management layers. One database was used as common database containing data owned by the Trading Platform. Individual data was stored in independent databases which could be easily plugged out from main Trading Platform as and when needed without effecting remaining system.

CodeEpsilon Services Analysts understood that the limitation of a partial digital system and non-availability of an existing trading platform provided a perfect opportunity for an Online Trading Platform to facilitate the Flower and Plant Buyers and Sellers in The Netherlands. The platform brings growers, florists, wholesalers, garden centers, DIY stores, and retailers on the same platform and provides them with a uniform trading experience and expanding their market share.
The design implemented was a distributed system having separate front end, back end and data layer. This was done to give system the much-needed robustness, enabling usage of heterogenous technologies that suit the best for that role and keep security aspect astringent across the complete system.
