Overview

A new startup founded in 2015 wanted to provide an online platform to both employers and job seekers for finding the best cleaning staff and job openings. Cleaning Services are required by both individuals and Corporates and thus there was a market for the offering. The startup had an idea of providing a well-developed platform exclusively for the Cleaning Service Jobs.

The Problem

The requirement was to deliver a job portal exclusively for the cleaning services industry. The application needed to support a subscription based engagement model for employers and a free engagement model for job seekers. The application would need to include user access control for free and paid members, payment processing, employer job posting creation, a flexible job search mechanism, skill and job matching algorithms for quick and easy searching capabilities, company directories, and SMS text alert messaging.

The Approach

Careful business analysis was critical to architecting this MVP flagship product because of its’ many unique factors. These factors were the key success factors as defined by stakeholders. During consulting, design and development phase, the stakeholders were advised to provide the best and proven industry standard usability solutions as dictated by users of similar portals that would align with the business side objectives.

UI/UX

The system was designed with the best UI/UX design principles in mind. The objective was to give the wide range of users a remarkable experience using the system from their desks working on desktops and laptops to physical labor users who were more likely to use their mobile devices.

The Challenges

The product owner had a limited budget for the development. This was a challenge and limited the scope of development. CodeEpsilon devised the agile methodology for the development, so that the product can be developed in stages in accordance to budget allotted for each phase.

The stakeholders were clear about the market space available but were not certain about the features or business model for the revenue. Market surveys were suggested to the stakeholders to better understand market needs. Sessions were conducted with stakeholders and based on the market surveys conducted product roadmap was designed and business model was set with appropriate usability features included.

Understanding the varied user base for the proposed system ease of usability and flows were a challenge. The design was prepared with careful understanding of the potential usage of the system and target audience.

The solution was a web based portal both for Job Seekers and Job Posters. The solution was responsive enabling it to be accessed via any device. There were host of facilities and tools available for the both job seekers and job posters making the job posting and job application process simple, fast and more responsive.
