In 1999, British technologist Kevin Ashton first introduced the term IoT. for developing products that not only connect people but connect objects also. At that time people thought it was a science fiction movie thing, not a reality.

After decades this technology is booming due to the introduction of nanotechnology. The market revenue of IoT is $34.8 bn.
